Another day of progress on Jeanett's home partnering with our Puerto Rican friends. Jeanett's entry to the front door was unstable, so we created a new concrete step. Most of the day was spent working on the walls and ceiling that needed finishing. Tomorrow we start on el baño! Vamos!!

After breakfast, we headed to the casa de Jeanett to asses the work to be done. Her house was damaged in the hurricane and interior work still needs to be completed! The gentlemen and ladies divided responsibilities. The men stayed at the house and started building interior room walls while the women headed back to church to clean and organize rooms.

The group attended a beautiful service at the Samuel Culpepper Methodist Church in Hatillo. Everyone was so welcoming! Can we say hugs and smiles?! The service was given by Pastor David on Christs’ healing through times of loss.

Pastor Eric and his wife couldn’t be there due to unfortunate circumstances. We ask for all of your prayers for he and his family. The afternoon was spent visiting the Arecibo observatory (if it looks familiar, think James Bond!) and a trip to the beach. We ended with prayers for Pastor Eric and for a successful week of contribution to our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico.

After a few delays, they arrived to the beautiful and warm island of Puerto Rico!
The team received a warm welcome upon arrival. All are excited to be there together looking forward to a great week ahead!

With conflicted hearts, we woke to our final day in Puerto Rico. We were tired and missing our families, but also feeling the sadness of missing our new families. Joey came to say goodbye and wish us safe travels. What a kind and spiritual man! We all enjoyed the meals he shared with us and the hospitality of him and his team. With a few hours before our flight to enjoy, we set off for Old San Juan. The cobblestone streets, dating back hundreds of years, laid by slaves, provided a path to immerse ourselves in the beauty and history of this beautiful city. We broke off into a few groups, experiencing the fort, the church, the shops and the ocean in our own different ways, a fitting way to end our trip. This past week we were one big group made of unique individuals. We are God’s people, "Goodbye, Puerto Rico!" Until we see you again.
