How We Serve in Puerto Rico

Disaster Response

We partner with REHACE and local churches to help rebuild following Hurricane Maria. We also help equip pastors and lay leaders through our annual Leadership Institute, providing opportunities for networking and resource sharing.

What to Expect on a Puerto Rico Trip

Work & Activities

Puerto Rico is often referred to as the “Island of Enchantment,” but in September 2017, Hurricane Maria pummeled the island. Church of the Resurrection mobilized quickly to help with immediate needs, and is continuing its partnership with local churches in Puerto Rico to assist the devastated communities there.

The most important skills for this trip are a desire to serve God while working side-by-side with Puerto Ricans; to be a team player; and to be flexible for whatever comes our way. Most likely we will be working on light construction alongside our partners from the Samuel Culpeper Methodist Church. You don’t have to know Spanish or construction: you just need a big heart and willingness to serve.
