We quickly realized upon arrival at the airport why Malawi is considered "the warm heart of Africa":  We were greeted by name and warm embraces.  Soon afterwards we were taken to Madisi where we unpacked our luggage and drove to the farm.  It was an amazing experience!

Joseph, who manages the farm, shared the many things that have been implemented so far. He provided a firsthand look at the blueprint of the farm and it's different zones.  The bathroom facilities have an innovative hand washing technique that was really impressive.  He also explained about the usage of preparing manure from waste thus saving the expense of purchasing this for the plants.  Rabbits are on hand for both food and manure.  Water is not wasted and even hand washing water is used for watering plants.  This farm will ultimately be a demonstration farm and is truly amazing.  That evening we broke break along with approximately 25 Malawians from the leadership team for the Madisi Church.  Music was a huge part of the evening and was a meaningful way to end the day.
