Hello friends!
Today was day one of our first mission trip of 2021! Our team landed safely in Tegucigalpa, Honduras at 12:37 local time. This is our first team to travel since the COVID-19 pandemic hit last year.
We were able to get tucked safely into the mission house and we were greeted by a new furry friend! A sweet young pup named Nala. After an amazing lunch of pollo a la plancha we packed into the van and went for a drive up a mountain to visit Cristo del Picacho. Which literally means the Christ at El Picacho. It’s a magnificent statue of Jesus, with an incredible view of Tegucigalpa.
On our way home we stopped at a grocery store to pick up some Honduran snack food, and we were on our way back to the mission house. We’ve eaten a delicious dinner, sorted all of the goodies we brought for our English classes, and we received an excellent devotional from Jennifer E. The team is really excited to hit the ground running! Tomorrow we get to join our friends in Ciudad España for worship and lunch. Then later in the week we will be reunited with our friends at the Juan Wesley school.
