jan 2 jan 1We were up early as the house is stirring to prepare for morning worship. What a pleasure to have breakfast and morning coffee with our partner. The day began with intercession, Bible Study and then Erin shared a wonderful message on Volunteerism. She explained what a blessing it is to God and to others to share our gifts and talents for the kingdom of God. After which we spent time in fellowship with the congregation as we had lunch together on the lawn of the new church facility.

When we finished lunch with the congregation we were able to join a nutrition demonstration led by Chimwemwe and Lucy in a neighboring village. What an awesome time we had meeting the chief of the Chikwawe and the wonderful people of his village. As we approached in the bus, they were singing songs welcoming our team. We were welcomed with open arms and smiles galore! They took time to do a presentation of what food they ate and how the meals were prepared for structured nutritional value. They invited us to help cook and sample their wares. The chief and Pastor Peter both gave heartwarming speeches of their appreciation for our volunteer team’s participation and for the willingness of the villagers to have us in their communities. We headed back to the parsonage for coffee and a debrief of the days events. What a wonderful experience had by all!
